BATH — The Bath Township Board of Trustees authorized placing a tax levy for road and bridge purposes on the Nov. 3 General Election ballot during its July 27 meeting.
Township Administrator Vito Sinopoli introduced a resolution to proceed with a 2-mill renewal and a 1.4-mill increase for a total of 3.4 mills on the township’s road and bridge levy.
Sinopoli noted the resolution is a procedural requirement for placement of the levy on the ballot.
He said the only other option would have been to put a separate additional road and bridge levy on the ballot to cover the rising costs of road and bridge repairs and maintenance.
The Bath Township Board of Trustees will next meet Aug. 10 at 6:30 p.m. in the trustees’ meeting room of the Bath Center Building, 3864 W. Bath Road.
