Scale Computing has launched the SC//HyperCore Imaging Service, which lets organisations deploy its virtualisation software on qualified existing hardware. Craig Theriac, Vice President of Product Management at Scale Computing, said the new offer reflects customer frustration with those constraints. The arrangement gives Scale Computing a second route to market and extends the offer beyond direct engagement with end customers. Scale Computing has built its business around hyperconverged infrastructure, edge computing and virtualisation for customers running applications across multiple sites. For existing Scale Computing customers, the imaging service could provide a practical way to expand deployments using hardware already in service or sitting unused in inventory.
