Leroy Ben Myers, 97, longtime farmer and stockman in Labette County, died at 12:50 a.m., Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at the Elmhaven East Nursing Home. He was born March 13, 1929, in the rural Dennis area, to William Henry Myers and Naomi Edna (Cortner) Myers. He enjoyed gardening, especially raising watermelon and tomatoes, setting trot lines, coon hunting and coyote hunting, to sell hides. Ben is survived by his wife of nearly seventy-four years, Donna; four daughters, Beverly Goedeke of Altamont, Darlene Spencer (John Steeby), of Mound Valley, Della Myers (Shaun Whetstone), and Loretta Hucke (Bryan), both of rural Parsons; nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Edna Bamberry of Altamont and Wanda Mae Myers of Parsons. He was preceded in death by his son, L. B. Myers; four brothers, Douglas Myers, Ivan Myers, Lester Myers and David Myers; and by two sisters, Irene Phillips and Esther Jones.
