Vitalik Buterin Updates Ethereum Roadmap With Quantum Safety, Privacy and Massive Scalability at the CenterEnglish 日本語한국어繁體中文ไทยPortuguêsItalianoDeutschFrançaisEspañolEthereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has unveiled an updated view of Ethereum’s long-term roadmap, placing quantum resistance, stronger user privacy and massive base-layer scalability among the network’s highest priorities as developers rethink several assumptions that shaped Ethereum’s strategy over the past three years.
Buterin published an updated version of his 2023 roadmap on August 10, mapping its original objectives against Ethereum’s newer “Strawmap.”
Ethereum Wants Privacy Built Into the ProtocolPrivacy has similarly moved from an optional application-layer feature toward a fundamental design objective.
Buterin has argued that Ethereum should provide privacy for payments, application activity, blockchain reads and network-level interactions.
His earlier privacy roadmap emphasized improvements that could be implemented with relatively limited consensus changes, while the longer-term architecture goes considerably further.
