By Tahna Weston[email protected]Retired Assistant Commissioner of Police Nuffield Burnette says ordinary residents and business owners are increasingly becoming victims of violent crime.
The recent shooting of Chinese investor Yida Zhang on Sunday, August 9th adds to the growing list of violent gun crimes.
He questioned how Antigua and Barbuda’s safety is measured, arguing that the country should not rely mainly on murder rates when assessing the seriousness of crime.
He said Antigua and Barbuda should not assume that it is less capable of committing serious crimes than countries it considers less safe.
I would have said that a million times that safer or safest countries has nothing to do with how many murders that one country may have against the other.
