…Demands FG action over remarks labelling Christians infidelsFrom Charity Nwakaudu, AbujaFormer Chief of Staff to the former Imo State Governor, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, has condemned remarks attributed to Plateau-based Islamic scholar, Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir, describing Christians as infidels. Nwosu, in a statement issued in Abuja, described the remarks as divisive and unacceptable, warning that they could trigger unnecessary religious tension and undermine national unity. He urged Nigerians to condemn the remarks, insisting that no individual should use religion to denigrate or label an entire faith community. According to him, such utterances could deepen religious mistrust, widen existing divisions and threaten peaceful coexistence. He called on the Federal Government to take appropriate action, in accordance with the law, against individuals whose public utterances threaten national unity and peaceful coexistence.
