BAKER CITY — Fire crews continue to keep the Fox Fire in eastern Baker County from growing, with “minimal heat” near the firelines, according to an update Monday morning, Aug. 10, from the fire management team. The Fox Fire burned to the edge of another blaze, the Powder River Fire, which started a week earlier, on July 16 about 5 miles west of Richland. The cause for the Powder River Fire is still listed as undetermined. The Powder River Fire is 96% contained at 21,088 acres.
