BAKER CITY — Baker City residents interested in running for a Baker City Council position in the Nov. 3 election have until Aug. 25 to pay a $50 filing fee and register with the city as a candidate. The deadline for candidates to apply is Aug. 25, said Megan Langan, the city recorder and elections official. Paying the filing fee is the only option now for prospective candidates, Langan said. Anyone interested in paying the $50 fee to register as a candidate by Aug. 25 can call Langan at 541-524-2033, or go to Baker City Hall, 1655 First St. The city council typically meets the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 6 p.m. at city hall.
