The book, Climb Higher, was published during European Rotors last November — and represents Davison’s second book focused on Robinson helicopters and the people who operate them. “It was fantastic, but that was with the R22 and R44 — and the last day shooting, Frank [Robinson] rolled out the R66,” Davison told Vertical. “When we put this book, Climb Higher, together, we covered a lot of operators flying the R66 — and Robinson was just announcing the R88.” Jon Davison PhotoDavison’s fascination with Robinson helicopters began when he first started using them as a camera ship in Western Australia. From concept to delivery of the final book was about 12 months, said Davison, including about seven months of photography.
