Alliance for Albanians has expressed deep concern regarding the Government’s promotional video published to mark 35 years of independence, saying ethnic Albanians are almost entirely excluded, while Albanian is completely absent. “It is unacceptable for official material, funded also by the taxes of Albanian citizens, to be built upon a mono-ethnic narrative, creating the impression that this state belongs to only one community. Albanians have been an integral part of the country’s most important political and societal processes, from the period of independence, through the building of democratic institutions, integration into NATO, all the way to the path toward the EU”, the party says, demanding a new, “dignified, representative, and inclusive” material.
