If a charge is not filed against blacklisted former DPM Grubi by the end of next week, the Criminal Court will lift the house arrest and order milder precautionary measures. According to the law, he cannot be under house arrest for over six months during the investigative procedure. The Court says that if there is no charge in the meantime requesting an extension of the measure, Grubi, who’s a suspect in the Lottery case, will be able to leave house arrest, but will not be allowed to leave the country. The passport already seized from him is considered a precautionary measure. The Prosecutor’s Office hasn’t disclosed at which stage the case against Grubi is, but explains it is adhering to the deadlines for the duration of the investigation and measures to secure presence.
