MOULTRIE – United Way of Colquitt County’s Executive Director Caroline Horne has been appointed the new board chair of United Ways of Georgia, the association representing local United Way organizations across the state. According to a recent press release from United Way of Colquitt County, as board chair, Horne will help provide strategic leadership and direction for United Ways across the state. At that time, the organization was run by all of the United Ways in Georgia, since there was no executive director. She said, when she’s working as board chair for United Way of Georgia, she has to get in the mindset that it was for the State of Georgia and regional Georgia. She said they’ve been awarded grant money to help keep the organization going so they don’t have to ask local United Ways for help, financially.
