The 50th annual Hope Watermelon Festival wrapped up in a big way Saturday (8-8) night at Fair Park. The concert was opened by the two Watermelon Idol winners followed by Hope’s very own Mae Estes. Estes received a strong reception from the hometown crowd and had been promoting the concert via social media. She was followed by Gretchen Wilson whose blue-collar anthems found a welcome audience. All-in-All, it was a good way to wrap up a great festival.
