Letter: It’s too early in political races to pick winners

In one race, it’s Susan Collins versus Troy Jackson for the U.S. Senate. From my perspective, Maine’s mainstream media — the Bangor Daily News, the Ellsworth American and the Portland Press Herald — have already picked their winners. They appear to me to be rooting for Jackson and Pingree while giving little attention to Bennett’s campaign. The lesson is simple: races aren’t won at the starting gate. As for me, I’m putting my money — and my support — on Susan Collins and Rick Bennett.
