For Tuesday’s Gone lets look back at a particularly early snapshot of John Darnielle during The Mountain Goats fiercely DIY era of the early to late 90s. This video was part of the Mountain Goats’ first known European tour, a short run that took them through Netherlands, Berlin, Cologne, Bremen, Brussels and Nijmegen, following the release of their second album Sweeden. The video from Netherlandson 4/15/95 features Darnielle with Rachel Ware, who accompanied him on bass during this period. The set begins with a baby faced Darnielle performing solo before Ware joins him, giving the performance quite a glimpse into a band pre-cell phones and one that certainly couldnt afford a film crew at this time.
