The planned all-glass 20th anniversary Apple iPhone, hotly tipped to arrive in 2027, has been cancelled according to an analyst’s most recent filing. According to Jefferies analyst Edision Lee, the radical redesign for the iPhone won’t be happening next year due to struggles with manufacturing the display. The issue could affect Apple’s future plans for the iPhone range too, Lee added, stating: “More importantly, we believe the plan was to extend the all-glass features to future iPhone Pro and Pro Max models, further raising their average selling price and margin.” For a number of years now it has been suggested Apple is waiting until the 20th anniversary of the original iPhone arriving in 2007, alongside a second generation of the foldable iPhone Ultra. If we were to hear this from reputable journalists and reporters rather than an analyst, it would certainly gain more credibility.
