PORTSMOUTH — Shawnee State University football has named Jimmy Peyton as its wide receivers coach and recruiting coordinator. Mark Snyder, Shawnee State’s head football coach, said Peyton’s background across multiple levels of football will bring valuable experience and perspective to the Bears’ program. In January 2020, Peyton was named as head football coach at Missouri Military Academy, where he served through the 2021 season. For his efforts, Peyton was named Twin State League Coach of the Year. In 2025, Peyton was named the head football coach at Logan High School, where he led the Chieftains for one season.
