The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has opened tenders for the supply of election gear ahead of the 2027 elections. Through a tender notice seen by Kenyans.co.ke on August 11, IEBC has invited eligible bidders to supply, install, test, commission, and maintain the Kenya Integrated Elections Management System (KIEMS), along with its hardware and accessories. This tender in particular, numbered IEBC/OIT/01/2026-2027, closes on September 1 for an election with projected a total of 28.5 million voters. An IEBC officer conducts a voter registration exercise and an insert of the IEBC logo. Bidders are also required to attach bid security worth Ksh30 million for the elections management system tender and Ksh40 million for the ballot papers tender.
