Texas Southern is closing in on Seton Hall assistant Corey Lowery as its next men’s basketball coach, according to college basketball insider Jon Rothstein. Rothstein reported that the two sides intend to finalize a deal, pending approval from the Texas Southern University Board of Regents. Seton Hall also recorded 42 victories across the staff’s first two seasons. Texas Southern has searched for a permanent coach since Johnny Jones left in April to join the LSU staff. The reported hire would bring Texas Southern an experienced program builder with HBCU ties.
