(Kevin Sabo/Stettler Independent)Swipe or click to see moreAn international partnership of over 35 years culminated in the opening of a new park on Main Street, Stettler, on Aug. 5. There has been a back-and-forth exchange between Stettler and Okoppe for decades, with the town dedicating Okoppe Trail in West Stettler Park in the earliest days of the partnership. In 2023, in anticipation of the 35th anniversary of the sister city status, town council began designing the park. Following the speeches, Lawlor, Wajimo, Yahigi and two members of the RCMP participated in a ceremonial ribbon-cutting.
