The Jidong Oilfield Company (Jidong Oilfield) has started operations of a hybrid geothermal and biogas facility in Dongying City, Shandong Province, China. The “Geothermal + Biogas” industrial steam production project is a green energy coupling demonstration project by Jidong Oilfield. The facility supports a steam supply capacity of 74 tons per hour and an annual heat supply of 1.18 million GJ. The “geothermal + biogas” project also presents a mature and reliable model for the use of green energy for industrial energy supply that can be promoted and replicated for large-scale applications in the field of industrial heating. This has paved the way for early studies on the use of geothermal energy for industrial heating or power generation.
