The Greenlink power connector had its route diverted after Harry Potter fans warned it would interfere with the grave of a fictional character. Speaking to the Energy Revolution podcast, Greenlink project manager Simon Ludlam said that the path of the 504MW interconnector would have run through the site of a shrine to Dobby, a house elf character from the Harry Potter series. © Supplied by Sumitomo ElectricDobby died in the final book in J. K. Rowling’s children’s book series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. The house elf’s death was shown in the first of two films covering the events of the final Harry Potter book. After that, the companies hired a firm to find an alternative route to bypass the grave – though the final route passes close to Bronze Age remains.
