Ming Yang has called for prime minister Andy Burnham to overturn his predecessor’s decision to block a £1.5 billion manufacturing facility.
Now, Ming Yang’s UK chief executive and vice president for global strategy and investment, Aman Wang, has called for Burnham to overturn the decision.
Pushback from the UK has not stopped Ming Yang’s activity in the European wind market, as it recently joined Norwegian Offshore Wind, Norway’s largest offshore wind industry cluster.
A spokesperson for the UK government said: “After careful consideration, the Government concluded that there are national security risks associated with the use of Ming Yang wind turbines in UK offshore wind projects.”
