US revokes more than 175,000 visas over crimes, immigration violations

According to the State Department, offences linked to the revocations included assault, driving under the influence, theft, drug-related crimes, reckless driving, sexual assault, child abuse, fraud and embezzlement.
The State Department also highlighted cases involving individuals accused of drug and financial offences.
The department also said some visa revocations involved foreign nationals who allegedly celebrated or appeared to endorse the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
Beyond criminal offences, the State Department said Secretary of State Marco Rubio had determined that several foreign nationals were deportable on foreign policy grounds.
The State Department said its visa-screening and enforcement operations would continue, warning that foreign nationals who abuse the US immigration system or are deemed threats to public safety could have their visas revoked.
