(Logan Kennedy)A second lawsuit has been filed concerning the asphalt plant proposed for the Max D. Hipp Industrial Park in Lafayette County. Meg Faulkner DuChaine and Thomas Faulkner filed a suit against Lafayette County and Magnolia Materials, LLC in Lafayette County Chancery Court on July 10. Faulkner bought the one-acre parcel in 1964 and did not sell the property to Lafayette County, nor did his family. In December 2025, the Lafayette County Board of Supervisors signed a 35-year lease with Magnolia Materials, LLC, an asphalt plant owned by J.W.
