The Menge research lab at Oregon State University seeks to figure out why marine species live where they do and how they im- pact ecosystems at large. According to the Menge-Lubchenco Lab’s website, the lab focuses on understanding ecological communities and ecosystems along various coastlines, with a focus on intertidal zones. One of the primary ways that Menge uncovers answers is through studying populations of various organisms in the different subsections of the ecosystems. During the tour, Menge and his team demonstrated and explained various methods of data collection and analysis they use in their research. More information on Menge’s work can be found through his lab’s website and through the College of Science’s website.
