TOKiMONSTA is among this era’s great sonic chameleons. Evolving from a bass-heavy aesthetic in the early 2010s to the disco-imbued style of 2025’s, ‘Eternal Reverie’, the LA-based producer has locked in a forward-facing sound and loyal fandom that many artists struggle to achieve. In ‘Memory on the Run,’ she delivers a lush lo-fi groover that kicks up the haziest qualities found in her latest LP, enveloping listeners with a glow of textured vocals, immersive chords and swirling, celestial accents. Though clearly a patient and intentional production, it also captures a pure sense of ease — just like TOKi’s ability to take a sound and make it entirely her own.
