A government Assamese-medium school in flood-hit Nazira is struggling to resume normal classes after the recent floods left its campus buried under thick layers of silt and debris. Nazira Adarsha Vidyabhavan, the only Assamese-medium school located inside the ONGC residential colony at Nazira Samajila, suffered extensive damage in the deluge. The school authorities had sought assistance from ONGC for cleaning and restoration work. Teachers have since been working for several days to clear mud and silt from the campus and make the school functional again. Amid the difficulties, a team led by Naoboicha MLA Dr Jayaprakash Das visited the school and joined the cleaning and restoration work.
