MARYSVILLE — The City of Marysville installed nine new Purple Heart City signs at entrances throughout the city to honor military service members who were wounded or killed in combat. Source: City of MarysvilleThe signs highlight Marysville’s designation as a Purple Heart City, which the Marysville City Council formally recognized by resolution in January 2022. A Purple Heart City publicly demonstrates its commitment to honoring Purple Heart recipients and supporting veterans, active-duty military members and their families. Snohomish County is part of the National Purple Heart Trail, a symbolic network of communities, roads and other locations that honor Purple Heart recipients. The new signs will remain in place year-round as a visible recognition of Purple Heart recipients and Marysville’s designation as a Purple Heart City.
