The Wilcox County Board of Commissioners approved several financial and infrastructure measures on August 4, including actions related to federal funding, a major road improvement grant application and an amendment to the county family burial plot ordinance. One of the board’s first actions was approving resolutions related to congressional direct spending funds associated with county fire service projects. Commissioners also amended the family burial plot ordinance, reducing the allowable cemetery parcel size from two acres to one acre. County officials said no data center proposal has been submitted to Wilcox County and emphasized that any future proposal would be subject to local review and regulation. The Wilcox Commissioners meet on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m.
