Moroccan athlete Imad Bouchajda won the gold medal in the men’s 800 meters at the World Athletics U20 Championships in Eugene, Oregon, on Sunday, according to Morocco’s Press Agency (MAP). Bouchajda crossed the finish line in 1 minute 44.64 seconds, finishing ahead of Australian athlete Daniel Williams, who took silver in 1:45.36. Spain’s Alejandro Rios claimed the bronze medal in 1:46.25. Bouchajda, the reigning African U20 silver medalist and Morocco’s U20 national record holder, became the fourth Moroccan athlete to win a gold medal at the World Athletics U20 Championships. The World Athletics U20 Championships were held from August 5-9.
