CIT training prepares law enforcement officers to safely and effectively respond to individuals experiencing crises involving mental health conditions, substance use disorders, and intellectual and developmental disabilities. The program emphasizes practical skills officers can use in the field while strengthening partnerships between law enforcement, behavioral health providers, and community service organizations.
