According to the Grant County Sheriff's Office, an 18-year-old man died early Sunday in an irrigation canal mishap.

Following the 9-1-1 call and arrival of GCSO rescuers, the man's body was recovered about a half-mile downstream.
The victim, identified as Johnny Sanchez Mendoza, is with the County Coroner, an autopsy is planned for early this week.
