Traditionally, the proceeds of the games go toward the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in honor of Amanda Meltzer’s father, who battled lymphoma and passed away in October 2023. This year, when they learned about Coffey’s battle, the Meltzer family decided to donate the money to his family. The annual Wiffle ball tournament started when Ezra Meltzer, Amanda’s son, couldn’t find one in the area.
