The ABS expects most people to share their compulsory Census responses online and is reminding households that they can do so before midnight tonight. A running tally of responses received shows that more than 3.5 million people have shared their Census responses with the ABS. As of Monday morning, NSW and Victoria recorded the highest number of early submissions, followed by Queensland, WA, SA, the ACT, Tasmania, and the NT. Census national spokesperson Emily Water said people did not have to wait until Census night to complete their form if they knew where they would be located on August 11.
