The honour recognises his contribution to advancing international trade, technology, investment and global economic cooperation. The first edition of the Delhi Gaurav Samman brought together eminent personalities from diverse fields in recognition of their distinguished contributions to society and to the national capital. The initiative builds upon the tradition of honours such as the Bharat Gaurav, Rajasthan Gaurav and Mumbai Gaurav Samman. The Delhi Gaurav Samman also reflects the growing importance of recognising contributions that connect India with the wider global community.
