Portland Man Charged With Murder After Driver Was Shot at Traffic Light and Crashed Into BuildingPORTLAND, Ore. — During the early hours of last Tuesday morning, a sergeant from the Portland Police Bureau’s Central Precinct found an adult male unconscious and suffering from gunshot wounds in the South Waterfront district.
The victim has since been identified as 41-year-old Anwar A. Osman, of Portland, and a man known to the victim was arrested.
This week, PPB Homicide Unit detectives followed up on leads, which led to the identification of Mahmoud Said Ali (42), of Portland, as the murder suspect.
An investigation revealed that the shooting occurred while vehicles were at a traffic light at South Bancroft Street and South Macadam Avenue.
Ali was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center charged with second-degree murder and the unlawful use of a weapon.
