Michigan residents and out-of-state visitors who are off-road-vehicle (ORV) trail enthusiasts can explore over 4,000 miles of trails, routes, and six scramble areas without an ORV license or trail permit on Aug. 15-16, as part of Michigan's Free ORV Weekend, according to EUP News.
While the state is waiving the fees for this weekend, all ORV laws and regulations will stay in effect, and where applicable, a Recreation Passport may be required.
Holly Oaks ORV Park in Oakland County will waive its entrance fee for the weekend, and riders do not need a Recreation Passport.
Silver Lake ORV Area offers a 450-acre scramble area for visitors.
Michigan's Free ORV Weekend gives riders and families a chance to try off-roading without buying permits and allows families to test and enjoy different trail systems across the state.
