Hannaford to buy longtime Presque Isle grocery store

Hannaford Supermarkets will take ownership of Graves Shop ‘n Save, an independent grocer in Presque Isle that has long been supplied by Hannaford.
The New England supermarket giant announced the acquisition Monday and said the store will begin operating under the Hannaford banner this fall.
Graves Shop ‘n Save has been a core retailer in Presque Isle since 1959, when the Graves family expanded its grocery store in Mars Hill — a town 15 miles south of Presque Isle — to Aroostook County’s largest city.
It acquired Paradis Shop ‘n Save stores in Fort Kent and Madawaska in 2024, and also runs supermarkets in Caribou and Houlton.
Graves Shop ‘n Save currently operates a loyalty rewards stamp program, where stamps earned from purchases can be exchanged for in-store gift certificates.
