The Prosecutor’s Office has appealed the verdict in the Thaler 2 case, whose first-instance procedure saw former PM Gruevski acquitted and the assets of VMRO-DPMNE, including the party’s seat in the center of Skopje, unfrozen. The Office confirmed on Thursday that a relevant prosecutor had lodged an appeal with the Skopje Appellate Court. The statute of limitations concerning the case expires on August 31. If an effective verdict is not reached by then, the entire case, which concerns the financing of VMRO-DPMNE, will fall, without the possibility of a new trial.
