The idea of constitutional changes has become politically toxic after “far too many” concessions, Foreign Minister Mucunski said in an interview with POLITICO. According to him, citizens are tired of having “the goalpost moved” and don’t trust Bulgaria won’t simply demand something else. In that sense, Mucunski underlined that the country had become “a case study” in how bilateral disputes could derail the EU’s enlargement process. “Yes, we are at times very frustrated by the lack of political delivery”, Mucunski noted. In his view, to say that the country has been treated unfairly is an understatement.
