Donegal’s Ethan Dewhirst sealed a fifth place finish in the 400m hurdles final at the World Under 20 Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon on Sunday evening. The Glenties native was running from the inside lane and he posted a time of 51.05 to secure fifth place in the event. The gold medal was earned by Czech athlete Michal Rada, with Japan’s Taiju Goto and South Africa’s Matodzi Ndou completing the podium.
