The Bank of Valletta branch in Żejtun has officially reopened to customers, following an extensive refurbishment. As part of this programme, the bank commissioned a pilot study to assess the carbon footprint before and after the refurbishment works. Initial projections indicate that the Żejtun refurbishment project will reduce the branch’s operational carbon footprint by approximately 29 tonnes per year. Simon Azzopardi, chief personal and wealth officer at BOV, highlighted how the refurbishment of the Żejtun branch has transformed it into a more welcoming, accessible and efficient space, while incorporating sustainable features that will help reduce the branch’s environmental footprint. The completion of the renovation project was inaugurated by Farrugia and Azzopardi in the presence of chief operations officer Ernest Agius and Żejtun mayor Joan Agius.
