Jack Rutledge, 73, went to be with Jesus on August 5, 2026. Born Jacky Wayne Rutledge to E. E. and Marjorie Ruth (Thompson) Rutledge on February 2, 1953 in Gorman, Texas, he lived his formative years in Rising Star. He graduated from Rising Star High School in 1971, where he played for the Wildcats. He was preceded in death by his parents, his two sons Andrew Justin “Andy” Rutledge and Steven Patrick Rutledge from his first marriage, his second wife Sherry Gray Rutledge, third wife Sarah Edwards Rutledge, brother J. D. Rutledge, and grandson Chance Stegall. Funeral services at 1:00pm, with internment at Rising Star Cemetery, under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home.
