FIVE THINGS: Encourage your child to play multiple sports
['Derrick Stuckly']
Brownwood News
At the very minimum, every child should try- out for two – three sports while in junior high school.
Although school coaches do want their athletes to be playing somewhere, playing club does not afford a child a special right to be on their high school team.
Being on a high school athletic team is a privilege and not a right that can be purchased through club sports or volunteerism.
I am not saying that your child should not play club sports, my children did.
Encourage your child to play multiple sports when they are young, especially at the junior high school level.
