On Saturday afternoon, August 8, drones attacked a ship near Gelendzhik, Russia. A thick plume of smoke rose above the ship following the strike, according to dialog.ua citing open-source intelligence channels. In light of the incident, the Gelendzhik authorities declared a drone threat alert and closed beaches in the city, as well as in the Kabardinsky and Divnomorsky districts. Local residents, in turn, reported hearing explosions and seeing thick smoke over the sea. Vacationers who remained on the beaches after the alert was issued were repeatedly urged to leave the coastal area.
