Adventures on the high seas: Vicksburg resident recalls time on Argentinian tall ship

Vicksburg resident Daniel García Gómez del Valle has led an interesting career. Born in Argentina in 1957, García Gómez del Valle followed in the footsteps of his father, who was an officer in the Argentine Navy. García Gómez del Valle became a naval architect and engineer. In the fifth year, cadets sail around the world for six and a half months on a tall ship training vessel, the ARA Libertad. García Gómez del Valle said he and his fellow sailors typically would not wear uniforms while on shore leave in other countries.
