SOUTH HADLEY — The upcoming $3.5 million Proposition 2½ override vote on Sept. 1 could provide South Hadley the financial stability it needs to reverse its fiscal downslide, town leaders told those gathered for a recent information session.
The Division of Labor Services started to analyze financial personnel across the town, schools and districts last week.
With its fourth vocational pathway registered with the state, South Hadley will officially become a “comprehensive high school.”
Low staffing levels, expanded responsibilities and high burnout are a common thread among departments in South Hadley, Voyik and Wong said.
The high school lost half its science teachers to other districts paying higher salaries.
