Study boosts bringing more nuclear power to the state

He said the state needs nuclear energy because the demand for power will grow by 35% over the next five years and would double in the not-too-distant future.
The power demands, he said, will make nuclear power a necessity.
“We could bankrupt the state,” state Rep. Zach Gramlich (R-Fort Smith) said.
A feasibility study identified six possible sites for nuclear power plants.
“The committee’s engagement today showed Arkansas is taking nuclear power seriously, and the study gives them a clear path forward,” he said.
