Fresh from finishing third overall in the GT Challenge de las Américas at the Guyana Grand Prix 10 days ago, Panama’s David Carballeda has confirmed his entry for the Fast Parts Caribbean GT Challenge at Bushy Park on August 29/30.
Driving his giant-killing Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI, he is chasing a third consecutive title in the GTS Junior Class, which caters for less modified cars with a maximum of 400hp.
His car is one of only seven left-hand-drive Evo VIs imported to Panama from the factory around the turn of the century.
The second race started in the rain and conditions deteriorated rapidly.
As the race ran its course, he was soon up to second place, albeit the McLaren of Hernandez lapped everyone including Carballeda.
